Bag limits
Daily limit is 6 ducks total. Within those, no more than:
Light geese: 5 daily, 15 in possession.
Mergansers: 5 daily, 15 in possession.
Scaup: 1 daily, 3 in possession.
What you need to hunt ducks in Alabama
Alabama State Duck Stamp — Required for residents ages 16–64 and all nonresidents age 16 and older.
Federal Duck Stamp — Required for all persons age 16 and older.
Nontoxic shot — Lead shot is prohibited for waterfowl nationwide.
- Alabama residents age 65 and older are exempt from the Alabama State Duck Stamp (proof of age/residency required); the Federal Duck Stamp is still required.
